I do my best to see as many sunrises and sunsets as I can. Both are two of the best parts of vacationing at the Jersey Shore. Obviously the beach is the best spot to check out a sunrise, but the perfect sunset is a little more challenging to find since we aren't on the West Coast or in Key West. While no Jersey sunset has the performances like a Key West sunset from Mallory Square, the Jersey Shore has a more relaxing take on it. Here are some of my favorite spots:
The Beach
The beach is my favorite sunset spot. You may not be able to see the sun setting over the water but what you will see are the beautiful changing colors over the ocean. There is usually plenty of space on the beach to check it out!
Sunset Beach, Cape May Point
Sunset Beach is as close to Mallory Square as we get. There is a flag ceremony as the sun sets over the concrete ship. Afterwards, look for cape may diamonds in the sand.

Wissahickon Ave, Cape May
There are times where we dont time the sunset perfectly on our trip down to Cape May from Ocean City. When this happens we make a right onto Wissahickon Ave from Rt 109 in Cape May. Its the street before Lucky Bones. We are usually the only ones there which is such a treat. This picture was take from this spot over the Summer.
If you have some time to plan, pack a little treat and beverage and bring a blanket. You may want to even bring some music to get into the sunset spirit.
