We enjoyed visiting with many Avalon realtors this weekend.  It was such a nice day to be out!  During the summer months, we are usually at one or more of the offices to  grab keys to set up homes for summer guests.

We were happy to have a sit down chat with Ann Delaney from Power Play Realty.  Ann and I have been Twitter friends for some time.  It's always nice to get together face to face and chat about our families, the latest in Avalon and rentals.    Ann was hoping to meet my new baby but my husbands parents were around and offered to babysit.  Wahoo!   Ann did get to meet my husband though!  I'm sure I'll be back soon shopping with the baby and will definitely stop in to see Ann.

Good Night Beach and Good Night Ocean

We are excited to offer Good Night Beach and Good Night Ocean books for our young vacationers this summer.

We thought this would be a great idea after visiting one of our Ocean City vacation homes where we made beds.  The kids room at this house had fun comforters on the twin beds and had these books on the side table.  It seemed like such a nice way to tuck the kids in after a fun filled day at the beach.  

Based on this, we thought it would go great with our linen and baby equipment rentals.  While moms are usually the ones that are most excited about the linens that they don't have to bring or launder - the kids can now have a little souvenir upon their arrival.

We hope the books will bring many restful nights during your stay!

I can't believe I'm posting a picture of the brochure my family was in. We used to get a room at the Mount Vernon Inn for our family of 6 in Cape May. We had so much fun visiting the arcades, riding bikes to the lighthouse and hanging out at the pool and beach.

Now it's just fun to look back on our vacations. I still can't believe we'd all be in one room since its so hard to get us all on one coast now. I miss these days.

Sunrise walk

We love our sunrise walks. Today was stunning! It will be even better when we can walk a bit later after daylight savings time.

Bare Feet

It's another year for polar bear plunges up and down the coast at the Jersey Shore. This year the plunge has more significance than dunking into the frigid waters. Many northern beaches were hard hit by Sandy and had so much debris on the beach.

Shore towns have remained committed to their tradition and continued with plunges only after major sand sifting on the beaches. The beaches are looking so much better every day. I was more thrilled to see plungers bare feet in the sand than to watch them dunk. With all the focus on our beaches, they will be ready for summer 2013!

Great Day on Long Beach Island

We spent yesterday on Long Beach Island to start planning for the upcoming season.   It was great to meet with the realtors throughout the island.  It was also great to see how many places have reopened!

Folks in Beach Haven are really working hard to make everything perfect. I wish  I had time to walk around Fantasy Island and Bay Village.   It was also encouraging to see that Nardi's is opening next week.  Oh Nardi's... I could use a night there with transportation by the Nardi's bus!   In Surf City it looked like nothing happened.  The Greenhouse was open along with many other restaurants.    I'm saving Harvey Cedars and Loveladies for my next trip!
