First Snowflakes of the Season

There is nothing like seeing the first snowflakes of the winter season.  Whether it be in the city, in the suburbs or at the beach, the first flurries are definitely a beautiful sight...  A beautiful sight yes but they are definitely a precursor to what is to come.  Brr.

We saw the first snowflakes at the beach in Manasquan this morning.  We went on our morning walk at 6ish and felt a little warm in my fleece and hat.  By the time I got to Seawatch the wind was blowing and the temperatures dropped.  By the time I got home it was snowing.

Instead of making hot chocolate, I went right to work on plans for Relax next Summer.   We are looking at new and exciting ways to get the word out about Relax!  If you have any suggestions, let us know.   Nothing beats the cold than thoughts next Summer.   I'll definitely be getting that hot chocolate later today.

We love November at the shore

November marks a new season for many of us at the jersey shore. It definitely isn't swimsuit season. It's the "dogs allowed on beach" season. It's nice to see more people out walking on the beach now that their best friend can join them.  

We were fortunate to enjoy the first day on the beach with both our pup and kiddo. Thanks to our bob stroller too for trekking through the sand! 

Vacationer tip: dogs are usually only allowed on the beach during winter months. However, many towns have dog beaches or have hours were dogs are permitted. The dog beach north of Oc is great and stone harbor also has evening  hours where dogs are allowed.

We love this creative decorating idea with painted clam shells from the beach.   They are always creating a scene based on the time of year.  My other favorite is the back to school design.

Vacationer tip: Bring your own lock box

After spending a week in a villa of over 20 adults, we were always left asking "who has a key?". Since the group didn't do every activity together it was sometimes hard to coordinate keys. In some cases we kept the doors unlocked.

I definitely don't recommend leaving doors unlocked. We were fortunate to not have any issues but we were lucky. 

In the future I plan to bring a lockbox to our next vacation. We will provide our  family and friends with the code so we can rest assured our belongings will be secured and everyone can come and go as they please.

Being a preteen on vacation at the jersey shore

I had a nice conversation with the gals at Sweet Tease coffee shop yesterday in Manasquan. Somehow we got on the conversation about being a preteen on vacation with our families at the shore. 

I can still remember how much I wish I had a crew of friends like the kids in Ocean City and Stone Harbor. They would hang out in packs having a great time on the boardwalk or in the center of town. As for me, my folks didn't want me to separate from the fam group so it was me and the fam walking by the cool kids.  I did try to look cool but not sure why that mattered. 

Now I'm happy to at least have some of the cool hs kids working for relax... Guess that's as cool as I get. 

Hope all those preteens and early teens had a great time on their jersey shore vacation this summer.

Here are some vacationer tips for you guys:

Bring a friend (if u r lucky enough to have room in the car)

Rock the family thing. Be proud of your family and do funny things: have a pizza or ice cream taste test  at all the boardwalk places

Get everyone zany inexpensive Oc Tshirts and rock it

Do a skee ball marathon

Coordinate a downtown or boardwalk scavenger hunt for the family and Instagram it. 

Enjoy the day time. I had more fun doing things like biking or water sports than just walking around. 

Someday you will look back on your vacation and will miss those days.

Concierge Services

We were delighted to work at this beautiful Ocean City home this weekend. We've always loved the property! We provided concierge services to help unpack and set up the house as well as many rental items.

We had such a fun time getting this vacationer ready for relaxation at the beach.

Vacationer tip:  This vacationer was well prepared for vacation.  They shipped their luggage in advance of their trip.  This may be a good option for others traveling from out of state since airlines charge a significant fee for additional bags.

Jetsetter and the Jersey Shore

We love checking Gilt for all their great deals. We especially love checking out Jetsetter. Jetsetter features awesome travel deals all over the world.

Family Reunions at the Jersey Shore

We love providing services to family reunions at the Jersey Shore. The Jersey Shore is a great place to get the grandparents, adults and kids together. There is something for everyone to do.  What a great way to catch up, share stories from the past and make new memories.

I especially love it when reunions are personalized. My family had shirts made one year for a family reunion in Tennessee. Looking back, they were so cute but i was definitely at the age where I was mortified to wear one.  Now I wish we could get back together and wear the shirts.

Fourth of July Fun At The Shore

Clear skies at the Jersey Shore

After a busy morning in the office we took the afternoon off to enjoy the Holiday.

We were fortunate to spend some time at the pool and catch the fireworks on the beach.  Beach fireworks are by far my favorite. I can still remember back to my first summer in Ocean City when I was 19 watching the fireworks from 50th street.  Such a cool thing to see up and down the shoreline while sitting in a beach chair with the sounds of the ocean.

It's all in the detail

We take pride in our attention to detail. It is evident in when you receive a special delivery from us. We are also so proud to have a storefront at the Jersey Shore. We make every effort to make it beautiful. Despite the rain today, we made the most of it and planted flowers. 

Rainy day at the beach

Tropical storm Andrea is bringing some rain to the jersey shore today. It's definitely a soaker but rest assured you won't melt in the rain. Rainy days at the beach are often great.

Rain, rain go away

My family has been known to always have rainy weather during their yearly vacation. We never really had to worry about getting burnt. It's actually gotten better since I got married and changed my name:)

Go to the movies

Visit the local museum

Do some arts and crafts - try a pottery studio like Glazed Over or Potomac Bead Company in Ocean City.

Go shopping

Make dinner

Play a board game

Growing up we once drove from cape may to Baltimore to visit the aquarium due to the rain. I'm not recommending that. Way too far! There are many other aquariums closer in NJ that are great to check out instead.

We always thought Relax had the best employees. Now we know it. Our employee, Steve, brought in the most delicious cheese Danishes for the office. Homemade! Next time we hire we should definitely ask whether the prospective employee can cook!

In Honor Of Prince Harry's Visit To The Jersey Shore

Prince Harry to visit the Jersey Shore.

Prince Harry will be visiting the Jersey Shore tomorrow to see the destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy.  He will be visiting two of the hardest hit towns - Mantoloking and Seaside Heights.     It will be the first time in 74 years that royalty has visited the Jersey Shore.   Prince Harry will be touring with Governor Christie who was (and continues to be) so instrumental to all those impacted by the hurricane.

In honor of Prince Harry's visit to two of our top delivery towns in the northern Jersey Shore region - we are temporarily renaming our Single (a.k.a. Twin) rental sheets "Prince".

We've always offered Queen and King linens without ever really associating them with Royalty.  We thought this would be a great way to welcome Prince Harry and spread the word:  THE JERSEY SHORE IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS.

By no means are we going to rename our Full size rental linens for anyone else on the tour. :)

We love our sunrise walks. Today was stunning! It will be even better when we can walk a bit later after daylight savings time.

Summer Planning with Pinterest

With the cold days of February almost behind us,  its time to start thinking of Summer.  Stores are starting to get their Spring/Summer inventory and realty office phones are ringing with requests for vacation rentals.  Orders are also starting to roll in for our rental items.

One of our new signs that Summer is approaching is the number of repins we've been getting on our Pinterest page. It's pretty cool to see that folks are including some of our suggestions onto their pages for their summer vacation.
