There are more than 130 reported cases of child sexual abuse in our city each month. Unfortunate, but not surprising when conservative estimates tell us that one in 4 girls and one in 6 boys will be sexually abused before their 18th birthday. We don’t have to look far these days to find very public stories of child sexual abuse and the enormous toll that abuse takes on individuals and communities. Stopping child sexual abuse and keeping children safe is the ideal of every community. This year, our staff expects to stop the cycle of abuse and help the healing begin for more than 1,200 children.
