When Everyone Likes What They Ordered

Its rare to go out with family or friends when everyone likes what they ordered.  We just so happened to pick a place this weekend where everyone loved it!

Bay Head
My inlaws were in town yesterday to visit us in Manasquan.   We were excited to show them the surrounding area.  During a previous visit, we headed to the Spring Lake area to show them the homes and shops.  Yesterday, we picked Point Pleasant and Bay Head.

After our short driving tour, we went to 709 on Arnold Ave for lunch.    I've been there before for lunch and recalled how great everything was.   Once again,  they did a fantastic job.

709 Point Pleasant
We ordered the delicious wings as an appetizer, then had soup (french onion and the lobster bisque)  then we all had different lunch dishes.  I loved my braised short rib with bacon mac and cheese and other dishes included the chicken sandwich, adult grilled cheese and a salad.    The presentation was really nice and service was excellent.  We will definitely be back for lunch!

For those going for dinner - there is usually a long wait for a table on weekend nights.  Its worth it.

Beach Haven Friday

Friday was a perfect day to visit with realtors on Long Beach Island.  Our first stop was with David W. at Van Dyk Realty.  David and I follow eachother on Twitter  (@DavidWyrschJr) and frequently chat about the happenings on the island.

Van Dyk has been referring us to their vacationers for some time now.  We are so happy they included us on their website and always look forward to making their customers stays more relaxing and enjoyable.

From there, we popped into a few other realty offices to thank them for their referrals with some milk and cookies.  We visited Mancini, Bay Shore, Diane Turton, Prudential,  Newbern, Oceanside Realty and LBI Realty.

We asked each realty office about rentals this year.  They ALL said that rentals are up from where they were this time last year.  Many attribute this to the warmer winter where vacationers don't mind checking out rental properties in the winter.   My advice:  book your vacation rental now!

After all that hard work, we had to stop and try a "new to us" place.  We tried out Stefano's California Grill for a burger and some clam chowder.  If you aren't verse in Chowderfest winners - they are the LBI Grand Champions for both Manhattan and New England Clam Chowder.

Linens Anyone?

Today was a fun day of folding linens at our new location in Ocean City. We folded over 150 sets of linens!

These linens are ready for summer 2012. They are excited about where they will be headed. Lbi? Stone Harbor? Sea isle? Avalon? Or up north in the lavallette area? They dont care. They are just looking forward to making your vacation more relaxing and enjoyable.

If this wasnt exciting enough, we got a shout out from the Martha stewart show with guidance on how to fold a fitted sheet.

This is just the 1/2 of it. Folding fun will continue again soon. Maybe Martha Stewart will come down and help!

Two of Our Favorites

Saturday was quite a day for eating!  I've been craving Mariners Cove in Brielle for some time.  It just so happened to be 9:30 on a Saturday and we weren't sure if  we had a chance to get a table.  For those that haven't been there,  the wait crazy on a weekend in the summer (and sometimes in the off season).   We lucked out!  We immediately got a table! Yeah!   I quickly ordered my favorite omelette, the South Jersey.  This is fairly normal with porkroll, tomato and cheese but may of the other omelette options are wild and crazy.

Later in the day, my friend and sister stopped at Surf Taco in Manasquan for lunch.  Wheneever a friend comes to visit, I usually take them to Surf Taco since its delicious and an awesome restaurant.   For lunch, the Hawaiian Salad was calling my name.  This is always good.

Depite all the good food during the day, I'm glad we stayed in and made dinner!

Cape May Visit

Following our meeting at Diamond Beach, we stopped in Cape May for a walk and quick bite.  We couldnt believe Fudge Kitchen was open in the middle of winter.  They even had someone outside giving out samples!

We  then stopped at our favorite spot in Cape May, Congress Hall.  We checked out each of the stores and the lobby.

After working up an appetite, we had lunch at Tisha's.  Tisha's has been on our list for some time now but we didn't get there till now.   We loved their New England Clam Chowder and the BLT with Avocado.

Ocean City Visit

We spent most of the day today getting the new store in Ocean City in shape for the upcoming Summer.

We did take a  break to grab one of our favorite sandwiches at Primo.  The "Bada Bing" is delicious.  Its chicken cutlet with broccoli rabe and provolone.  In the off season we don't live near a Primo so we are lucky when we can get to Ocean City.   After we stopped by to chat with the owner of Animal House, our favorite pet store at the shore.

The Grand At Diamond Beach

We had the pleasure of visiting The Grand at Diamond Beach.  We were asked to discuss our rental items and services for vacationers renting at The Grand.

We had a great meeting with Ashley, vacation manager at The Grand.  Ashley took us on a tour of several rental properties.   Each of them were beautiful from the layout to the flooring to the decor.  We also checked out their amenities including their private beach and infinity pool.  The property and location is great for vacationers interested in the best of Cape May, private beaches and some of the fun in Wildwood.

If you are interested in booking a vacation rental at The Grand, contact Ashley at ashley@thegrandatdiamondbeach.

Birthday fun at the Jersey Shore

My birthday is today and I'm so lucky to spend time with my loved ones on the special day.  Since this is our off season - we were able to take the day off to enjoy, enjoy and enjoy!

My mom stayed over our place in Manasquan the night before following the move to our new location in Ocean City.  We got the day started right with plans for breakfast.  We initially intended to try the Breakers in Spring Lake.  They are unfortunately closed during the week in the winter so we had to come up with something.

I quickly remembered Toast in Asbury Park. I've been wanting to try this for some time.  My favorite meal of the day is breakfast so I dont mess around when it comes to a good menu.  Toast did not disappoint.         The restaurant is decorated very nicely and was pretty busy for a Thursday am.  I was impressed with several items on the menu including the Red Velvet Pancakes and the  Root Beer Pancakes special.  Really?!  How cool is that?  My "one year older" boring self got the California Scramble with Sour Dough toast.  It was delish. The grape tomatoes and the yummy potatoes made the dish.  My mom was equally happy with her meal.  She suggested checking out the bathrooms.  I didnt go in so I dont know what I'm missing but she thought they were cute.
I will definitely be back at Toast soon.
