Hotel Stay With The Kiddo

We've been in Philly all week and stayed in a suite with my mom and my one year old kiddo.  There was definitely a lot to pack for our stay.  Relax was very helpful in providing some items for the stay.

Here are a few things we brought:

Relax Booster Seat - This worked out good for meals in the room.  It didnt take up much space and was a good chair for the kiddo to sit in while playing every so often.

Relax Stroller - The BOB was once again one of our favorite things for our stay. It was so easy to stroll down the streets and navigate through Center City.  We made sure to bring a lock when visiting restaurants.

Relax Pack and Play - The hotel said they offered cribs but now-a-days a "hotel crib" is really just a pack and play. They made it nice with a sheet and 2 cuddle blankets but we brought our own pack and play since it wasnt too hard to pack.

Relax Bath Tub - The hotel had a tub with their shower but I find tubs a little weird in hotels. Our tub was just fine.  We even brought a few fun bath toys in addition to the soap and shampoo.

Bin of Toys - Both my mom and I brought a bin of fun toys and books for the kiddo to play with.  He especially loved playing with the mega blocks, cars, some quiet musical instruments, stickers and elmo. The bin also has a few of his DVDs for the laptop.

Comfy Blanket For The Floor - This was nice for the kiddo to play on instead of the hotel carpet.

Safety Plugs and Cabinet Latches - The room had a lot of outlets and the kid loves to play with them at home but we came prepared.  We brought lots of duct tape too for those cabinets that arent easy to child proof.

Food options - It was nice to have a kitchen since we didnt plan to go out to eat often.  We planned for lots of snacks, fruit, veges, juice and milk.  The hotel was so nice to include a full breakfast and dinner every day to make meals somewhat easier.

Once upon a time  I was the business traveler only checking in with my laptop bag and small travel bag.   For this trip we needed the luggage cart !

Please Touch

One of the exhibits had lots of cool adirondack chairs
We had a great time today visiting the Please Touch Museum in Philly. I don't know who loved it the most: my one year old, my mom or I. The kiddo is at a great age for playing with a lot of things. He loved the slide, tunnel and camping setup in the first exhibit, taking a ride on carousel, playing with the tea set in the Alice in wonderland exhibit and also packing a shopping cart at the shop rite store. Who knew he loves grocery shopping. Maybe well enlist him for relax orders:)
The kiddo having fun with the grocery store

Vacationer tip. It's not necessarily something you'd visit If going to the shore. But if you are including Philly and the shore in your stay - your young kids would love it. The museum is located kinda close to the zoo so it's best to travel by car.  We went on a weekday after school so it was not crowded at all.

Trip Down Memory Lane

I am staying in Philly this week and spending a lot of time in University City. While walking the UPENN campus, I thought back on the days before Relax.  I spent 3 years working on the campus in the IT group leading campus wide systems projects for students and faculty.   I had the opportunity to take a series of courses at Wharton for Entrepreneurship  and also in their Small Business Development Center (SBDC).    I can remember back to forming the concept and presenting different parts of my business plan to the class throughout the semester.  So many things have changed since then but so many have just as I envisioned it back then.   I look forward to meeting with the SBDC again soon to provide them with an update and start planning our next steps together.

I Don't Know How She Does It

I had a little time this week to watch a movie! Hip hip hooray for me. I can't say I saw a whole movie but I'll take what I can get. I watched "I Don't Know How She Does It" with Sara Jessica Parker and Pierce Brosnin.

I could relate to SJP's character more in this movie than SITC:) I can't say I work full time with 2 kids. I have 1 kid and work like crazy in the summer.

I had a few relax thoughts while watching it. She had the same pack and play that we rent. Good choice!  Also - I thought she could have totally used Relax for baby equipment  when they went on vacation. Their car was packed with baby stuff.

While this movie may not be "real", the reality is that many women really do so much in their work and family life. We are here to make it easier so they can spend more time enjoying moments with their families.

First Snowflakes of the Season

There is nothing like seeing the first snowflakes of the winter season.  Whether it be in the city, in the suburbs or at the beach, the first flurries are definitely a beautiful sight...  A beautiful sight yes but they are definitely a precursor to what is to come.  Brr.

We saw the first snowflakes at the beach in Manasquan this morning.  We went on our morning walk at 6ish and felt a little warm in my fleece and hat.  By the time I got to Seawatch the wind was blowing and the temperatures dropped.  By the time I got home it was snowing.

Instead of making hot chocolate, I went right to work on plans for Relax next Summer.   We are looking at new and exciting ways to get the word out about Relax!  If you have any suggestions, let us know.   Nothing beats the cold than thoughts next Summer.   I'll definitely be getting that hot chocolate later today.

Quiet Festival - Right up our alley

Of the many events at the shore this weekend, the Ocean City  Quiet Festival is at the top of our list.  The goal of the festival is to reduce the hectic pace of modern life, the noise, confusion, speed and to foster a greater appreciation for natural things.   Ocean City is the only location to actually have an event like this.

We are all for the Quiet Festival since many of our rental items  promote quiet.  Resting your head on one of our pillows, our baby cribs, watching the Tranquil Turtles, cuddling up under one of our comfy blankets, reading one of our books "Goodnight Beach or "Goodnight Ocean"... the list goes on.

Opening Ceremonies are on Friday, Nov. 8 with a Yawn Along Ensemble (yawn to the tune of Beautiful Dreamer) and also an open poetry reading.  On Saturday there will be a Quiet Pet Contest, a performance by quiet magician, free cartoons for kids of their favorite animal, a harpist and get this... the Snore at the Shore, the world's only quiet snoring contest.  On Sunday, everyone is to create their own quiet!  Too cute.... For Information on the Quiet Festival, call (609) 525-9300, after hours and on weekends (609) 364-4010 or emailmsoifer@hotmail.com.

Full circle

Way back in my consultant days I worked  on system implementations for the government.  I found the materials management and procurement process to be very interesting.   I still remember many of the acronyms!

I am thrilled to report that Relax is now a vendor that will be listed in one of these government systems. We look forward to submitting for government contracts in the future under the linen supply NAICS category:)

It's amazing how things go full circle.

Ocean City

We had a great day at our Ocean City location. It's crazy to see a lot our inventory in the store and not currently  out on vacation.  I have to admit I love it when everything is out with our guests.
There's more room to move too:)

We were excited  to put together a large order for a client next week. This order is for about as many towels a person would use in a year!

We love November at the shore

November marks a new season for many of us at the jersey shore. It definitely isn't swimsuit season. It's the "dogs allowed on beach" season. It's nice to see more people out walking on the beach now that their best friend can join them.

We were fortunate to enjoy the first day on the beach with both our pup and kiddo. Thanks to our bob stroller too for trekking through the sand!

Vacationer tip: dogs are usually only allowed on the beach during winter months. However, many towns have dog beaches or have hours were dogs are permitted. The dog beach north of Oc is great and stone harbor also has evening  hours where dogs are allowed.

Happy Halloween From The Jersey Shore

Happy Halloween from the Jersey Shore.

We love this creative decorating idea with painted clam shells from the beach.   They are always creating a scene based on the time of year.  My other favorite is the back to school design.

Treasure Island Pumpkin Picking

We had a great day pumpkin picking on Treasure Island (aka Osborn Island).  Treasure Island is located on the Manasquan River between Brielle and Point Pleasant.

My sister Katie w the kiddo.
It is believed that  Robert Louis Stevenson wrote his famous novel Treasure Island about this location. According to wikipedia, Stevenson spent about a month in Brielle along the Manasquan River. One day Stevenson visited Osborn Island and was so impressed he whimsically re-christened it "Treasure Island" after his famous novel Treasure Island (1883) and carved his initials into a bulkhead. This took place five years after he had completed the novel. To this day, many still refer to the island as such.
The kiddo made sure to dress up like a pirate for his first visit to the island.
The Manasquan water taxi took us there from the Brielle Yacht Club. While on the boat, we enjoyed a free drink, received pirate bandanas and listened to some fun fall music.
Pumpkin picking on Treasure Island

Upon arriving on the island, our tour guide brought us through the woods and pointed out exciting things like sarsaparilla( what root beer is made from). At the end of the island we all congregated around the tire swing and piñata. We talked about our halloween costumes and picked out pumpkins.

On the way back, we even went crabbing!

What a great way to spend a Fall day!  We got a free water taxi season pass too in the event we want to hit the area bars next summer.

Tip:  The boat ride wasn't sold out but it is recommended that you make a reservation.  Bring a light jacket because it gets a little windy and chilly on the water.  Also bring a little snack.

When on vacation we get towels too

It was interesting to get towels delivered to our villa for our vacation. It's not how we deliver our items, but then again, there is only one Relax Concierge.

Vacationer tip: Bring your own lock box

After spending a week in a villa of over 20 adults, we were always left asking "who has a key?". Since the group didn't do every activity together it was sometimes hard to coordinate keys. In some cases we kept the doors unlocked.

I definitely don't recommend leaving doors unlocked. We were fortunate to not have any issues but we were lucky.

In the future I plan to bring a lockbox to our next vacation. We will provide our  family and friends with the code so we can rest assured our belongings will be secured and everyone can come and go as they please.

We rent beach stuff too when on vacation

While visiting the beach in Positano we had to rent some beach equipment to fully enjoy ourselves. We rented 4 lounge chairs and 2 umbrellas for about 2 hours. It wound up costing 30 euro for the time but I think it was totally worth it.  Our rates are so different and you keep the items for a week!!!

We did order some pizza to go from my favorite spot, chez black,
and my sister got us some coronas (haha). It was probably the most relaxing we did during the trip.

Baby rental items for our vacation

Prior to traveling this past week we looked into some baby rental options in positano. We were hoping to rent some items that were similar to what we rent to our guests. We brought our umbrella stroller, baby back pack and car seat.  Of the relax items, we brought the baby monitor.

We were looking to rent a crib, play yard and a high chair but didn't find anything. I can make it work without a crib but I definitely missed the play yard and the high chair.  We had lots of folks to hold him he was on the loose a lot:)  the monitor did help me relax a bit while he was napping.

it was our luck that the airline messed up our bags and didn't send the car seat or the baby back pack until mid week. Ugh!  Fortunately our driver brought a car seat just in case. Thank you Giovanni! I don't know what I would have done if he didn't have one.

I spent some time researching back carriers vs strollers before our trip and thought I had it covered. Our uppa baby g-luxe umbrella stroller worked out great when not taking the stairs. That probably accounted for 50% of our time in positano. It had to be carried by someone the other 50% of the time. There was one day where I had to do the stairs (let's say 15 stair cases) alone w the baby and stroller. It wasn't impossible but it was not easy!

We purchased the kelty 3 baby back carrier before the trip after reading lots of reviews. I never used it.  It was too much pressure on my lower back and I couldn't figure out how I'd handle the incline /decline of the
stairs w my 25lb baby on my back. It may just have been me because a lot of men didn't seem to have any issue with the back carriers. It did work out just great in the airport. The baby loved it too! The flat terrain seemed to make the difference for my back. I would have brought my baby bjorn if the kiddo wasn't too tall for it. That seemed like the way to go for most women I saw.

If I were to do it all over again I'd probably buy the ergo baby carrier. A friend let be borrow hers after my brothers wedding reception. We had a long walk from hotel puppetto through town and then onto the bus. In all the wedding fun, someone forgot the stroller at the villa so I carried the baby down the mountain, through town and to the beautiful yet very challenging walk to the reception. The ergo baby carrier seemed to fit him well, he stayed asleep for the trek and I had my hands free.  I'd still like to see if he would enjoy it while awake but that was a huge help!

Vacation tips

We haven't taken a vacation in a very long time. We've been away this week for my brothers wedding in Italy. Her family did an amazing job booking a villa for all the guests to enjoy for the week. We are so blessed to have had the opportunity to get to know her family.

They did so many thoughtful things at the house - in addition to planning the main event.

We've worked with many families planning events such as weddings and reunions.  We thought you would enjoy some of these ideas:

Welcome bags- we received gorgeous personalized bags in our rooms upon our arrival. The bags included an itinerary for main events, info on the wedding couple and party, a pillow, lotion, local guide book, etc.

Fruit and some snacks - after a weary travel day this was great to enjoy as soon as we arrived.

Room assignments- this is probably very important to know upon arrival if there is a large group and varying bed sizes.

Family dinner- Italy may be known for their food but I will always remember the dinner we had at the house on the first night. My dad cooked up some speghitti and meatballs. Delicious.

Packing ideas - Part 3

I'm starting to now believe that duct tape is definitely the answer for traveling. There is so many things you can do with it. In my case I knew traveling with a very curious one year old would be somewhat challenging and that my safety items may not fit in our luggage or may not work at the house.

We used duct tape in the house to:
Cover the stove knobs... They were so close to his level compared to American made stoves.
Keep drawers closed... Especially the ones below the sink and ones with glass items.
Keep doors closed. My lo loves handles. The house we are in has some big doors that could easily hurt a toe or finger.
Cover outlet. I only own us outlet protectors and don't have adapters for the protectors - ha:)
Mark our luggage. With lots of colors in stock - our teal duct tape makes it easy to identify in a sea of black bags.
A project for the lo. He loves stickers so duct tape keeps him occupied if we make a piece somewhat easy to take off.

If you have some vacating tips using duct tape we'd love to hear about them.

Packing ideas part 2

Here's one of our packing ideas when traveling with a baby...particularly a baby that likes to get into everything.
We put his clothes in zip lock bags and organized by outfit. This way we can just pick up the bags should he get into the luggage and if e don't have a dresser with drawers above his reach. This will also help when family members want to help get him changed or when on the go

I wish I did that with my bag.

Packing for a big trip - Part 1

We are off to Italy for my brothers wedding. We are looking forward to visiting the amalfi coast and enjoying the food and wine and of couse celebrating their marriage. Our flight is a day away and oh my is there a lot to pack when traveling with a baby. I've talked with many moms this summer about their preparations and now I know first hand.

Over the next few days I plan to share some of my travel tips with our readers and pass along a few we've received from our vacationers.

First tip: load the iPad with lots of apps and movies! I'm already on it. I just need to remember the converter for the layover in Rome. We can't run out of battery during an episode of Sesame Street. Thanks to Katie and Kelly for that great tip.

Relax And Halloween

Toga out of a bed sheet!  Pretty!
Relax is normally associated with Summer at the shore; but we have Halloween on our mind! Ghosts, togas and other costumes can all be made from simple items at home or (in our case) in inventory.  Check out our Pinterest page for ideas.
With hundreds and hundreds of sheets and towel sets in stock - we can't help to think about all the fun we can have this halloween.

I particularly love the toga idea as pictured on right. I think I would probably wear that all year round.

From Beach To Petting Zoo

We had a great time visiting Atlantic Farms petting zoo on Monday.  We've driven by many times and have seen the goats and cows from the car but we've never stopped until now.

I have no idea why we've waited so long for a visit.  The baby and I enjoyed walking around to see the goats, sheep, ostriches,
donkey and miniature horse.   We also got a delicious pie from the farmers market.  Next time we will take a hay ride to the pumpkin patch.

Vacationer tip:  Atlantic Farms is open for most of the year.  If its overcast and not the best beach day - go visit the petting zoo.  Whenever you decide to go, head over to Hinck's Turkey farm for a Thanksgiving-like meal afterwards.

Red bank - jersey shore?

When we moved to red bank back in 2003 we were so excited to be at the jersey shore. jersey shore? Coming from north jersey and my husband from the Cherry Hill area we definitely considered the "Rb" the shore. We were a mere 10 min from
Sea Bright without getting on the parkway! We were thrilled to be able to walk to town, the NYC train and be so close to the beach.

We still love our trips to the Rb even though we are now a bit closer to the beach.  This week we were there 3 times! We went to the galleria, nirvana to shop, broadway diner and to the count Basie for the Robert Hunter concert. We even ran into out friend, dori, who owns the Wooley Monmouth.

Vacationer tip: For those wanting the best of both beach and hip city like town - red bank is the best!  If u are visiting points north of seaside - it's a short drive. Check out the antique spots and art galleries.

Homeowner Services

Summer may have just ended but the Jersey Shore is already gearing up for the next season.  Realty offices up and down the shoreline are currently working with homeowners to set their 2014 Summer rental rates. We are here for homeowners looking to  make their home more relaxing and enjoyable for their guests!   We offer homeowner discounts for linen rentals and can provide a list of references for homeowners interested in our services.

To learn more, visit our website
.

Is it really October?!

The weather has been perfect this week at the Jersey Shore. We definitely enjoyed yesterday's weather so much that we promise we will not complain on a freezing cold day in January. The beach in Manasquan was pretty busy considering it was a school and work day.  We spent some time walking the beach, sitting on the beach, birthday shopping at brave new world and picking up cannolis
at joe leones!

Funny Expression

I was talking a family friend earlier today about Relax and the need for vacationers to either bring or rent linens and towels on their vacation.  He made me laugh when he suggested a new motto for us "Call Relax To Make Your Summer 2014 Reservation Or You'll Be Sheet Out Of Luck!"  I'll have to remember that one :)

Delivery

My sister is the best at taking photos of her Relax deliveries.  I love looking at each and every one she sends on a Saturday.

There is something about doing a delivery which is pretty cool. We enjoy both repeat addresses that  we have on our route each week just as much as new properties receiving our services for the first time. We enjoy: admiring the landscaping and/or view, meeting the new or previous tenants, carrying up items to their drop off location or locating the items at pick up time.  Its keeps things interesting!

Being a preteen on vacation at the jersey shore

I had a nice conversation with the gals at Sweet Tease coffee shop yesterday in Manasquan. Somehow we got on the conversation about being a preteen on vacation with our families at the shore.

I can still remember how much I wish I had a crew of friends like the kids in Ocean City and Stone Harbor. They would hang out in packs having a great time on the boardwalk or in the center of town. As for me, my folks didn't want me to separate from the fam group so it was me and the fam walking by the cool kids.  I did try to look cool but not sure why that mattered.

Now I'm happy to at least have some of the cool hs kids working for relax... Guess that's as cool as I get.

Hope all those preteens and early teens had a great time on their jersey shore vacation this summer.

Here are some vacationer tips for you guys:
Bring a friend (if u r lucky enough to have room in the car)
Rock the family thing. Be proud of your family and do funny things: have a pizza or ice cream taste test  at all the boardwalk places
Get everyone zany inexpensive Oc Tshirts and rock it
Do a skee ball marathon
Coordinate a downtown or boardwalk scavenger hunt for the family and Instagram it.
Enjoy the day time. I had more fun doing things like biking or water sports than just walking around.

Someday you will look back on your vacation and will miss those days.

Super Bowl is Coming Soon

While the weather may still be in the 70's, there is A LOT of talk and planning for the first ever cold weather Super Bowl on February 2nd.  We are so excited to have been invited as a participant of the Business Connect program.   We are already gearing up for this wonderful opportunity.

Beautiful Playground At The Jersey Shore

We visited a new playground today on the beach in Manasquan.   The former playground was washed away in Hurricane Sandy.   The playground is in memory of Olivia Engel, one of the 26 students from Sandy Hook Elementary School.   The playground was designed with some of Olivia's favorite things: the color purple, butterflies, dragonflies  and being on the water with her family. The project was completed by SquanStrong, a Manasquan nonprofit group that organized relief efforts after the superstorm, and  The Sandy Ground: Where Angels Play.

I've lived at the beach in Manasquan for several years now. This playground is such a wonderful addition to the community.  It is so nice to see kids playing once again on the beach.  It truly makes you appreciate what you have.

For more information on the playground, here is an article from the APP.

Summer 2014 Reservations

We definitely already have next summer on our mind. Our summer dates have already been loaded into the system.

We may have been inspired by our realtor friends posting about their new rental listings for next year. (Nancy Alexander at Remax in Avalon is just one of the realtors posting beautiful places available for the upcoming season.)

It makes perfect sense to get it all done early. Get your perfect rental for the week you want and get your favorite linens too before the rush.

We are definitely still accepting off season rentals too and are working out the best way to accept the reservations in our system. For now - either call us or just pick week=other and just enter the dates.

September is a wonderful time at the jersey shore. There are so many great things to do and see. We spent last evening on the beach. Sweatshirt weather, Dj, bonfire and solo cups

Ocean Grove

We couldn't resist a quick stop in Ocean Grove yesterday with the baby. We enjoyed a short walk around town. We didn't do any shopping since I was holding him but we did take some great pictures. The baby even enjoyed his first taste of Nagles ice cream. Blueberry and cream sundae for us!

Back to school

We can't believe it's the first week of school.  Relax is happy to have so many wonderful teachers on board during the summer months.

We also have a few college students who also started over the past week. They attend Loyola in Maryland and Stockton in NJ. Majors include hospitality management,
Advertising, chemistry and biology.

Best of luck!

Ocean City Half Marathon and MS Bike Tour

The last weekend in September is always very busy in Ocean City.  It is both the MS Bike Tour and the Ocean City Half Marathon and 5K.   We are looking forward to providing guest with linens/towels and other rental items during their short but very active stay in town.

We spoke with one of our repeat customers who is looking forward to running her first half marathon with her daughter in her favorite town.  They are making it large family event with 19 people coming to cheer on the runners.

For more information about both events, please visit:

Pack and Play Rental

This is a busy week for our baby equipment rentals. There are plenty of cribs and pack and plays out across the jersey shore. We helped one customer on Saturday with the set up of the pack and play.

These pictures may help others:

Take the pack and play out of the bag and lay on the floor

Lock the sides into position.  It's tempting to push down the center before locking the sides into position. If you do this the sides wont secure.
Push down the center and drop in the pad.  That's it!

Photos from my sisters vacation

My sister just it back from a two week vacation in California.  She had lots of fun in the Cali sunshine. She sent us a few pics from her trip to Catalina. Nope... None of the boat ride, the town or the coast... Just a few of their linen rentals. While I may be always thinking of relax its nice to know my sister is too.

Catalina- lets talk;)

Saturday Roundup

I can't believe it's almost the end of the prime summer season. We all had a great time today doing deliveries and pickups all over the Jersey Shore. I was happy to be out on the road doing deliveries and pickups too.

Here are some of the photos I took during the day.

Dresses

We had lots of fun last night in stone harbor. My mom was interested in looking for a dress for my brothers wedding in Italy.  We figured we may find the one!

She didn't have much luck but I did. I picked up 3 fantastic dresses. One for the rehearsal, one for wedding and the other for a day in Capri. The rehearsal dress and Capri dress  are from Skirt. I saved 70% because I bought 3 summer items. The wedding dress is Nicole
Miller from the attic.

Lets hope for warm weather in mid October!

Beach bars

Beach bars have always been one of my favorite places to hang at the Jersey shore. In my twenties, I would frequent the Shell on LBI to hear Dog Voices while enjoying some drinks outside. Recently we realized beach bars are fairly family friendly for happy hours. This summer the Golden Inn in Avalon has been at the top of my list. On Sunday evening we went to the beach bar at the deauville in Strathmere. Why did it take so long for me to discover this gem!? Bubba Mac was playing, the beach chairs were comfy and the food was whatever....

Vine anyone?

We love the youthful spirit of our summer team. Prior to this summer, I can honestly say I didn't know what vine was. As of today, we have our first Relax vine. Who knew folding towels could be so cool. Thanks Tor!

Beach or bay

We normally pick beach over bay but after a long day we opted to go to a spot where we could park close to the sand.

We decided to drive to the somers point beach. We parked very very close to the beach and walked up to the water.

We had lots of fun just playing in the sand.

Vacationer tip: the somers point beach is a less traveled option should your little one not like waves. It has free parking, lifeguard and public rest rooms. It's also across from the anchorage and near smittys for post or pre dining.

Sidewalk Sales in Stone Harbor and more...

Sandwich from Yvette's
One of our team members was in Stone Harbor on Saturday to make beds at a rental home.  She reported lots of activity downtown for the annual sidewalk sale.  While I didn't get a chance to think much about it a the time, I had a chance to check it out today...

I'm impressed that most stores had sales!  We stopped by a few favorites for some clothes for a fall trip to Italy.  Skirt, People People,  Free Shop were all at the top of my list.  We had the most success at People People scoring a few Ella Moss and Splendid t-shirts.  Skirt had lots of great Trina turk and Shoshanna but the kiddo wasnt in the mood for shopping.

After we hit the favs, we stopped by Yvette's for lunch. I've heard great things about Yvette's so it was about time. I had a delicious Brie sandwich with strawberries and pears. It was a little $ but after saving all that money shopping it was totally fine.

The end of Summer means that its almost the start of fall wedding season.  We love to help families hosting weddings and parties at the shore with their bed linens.

We were excited to speak with a family yesterday renting a former bed & breakfast in Beach Haven.  They will be hosting a large family party in early October  where they just want to hang out and enjoy time with their loved ones instead of making beds and laundering lots of sheets and towels.

If you are booking a vacation home for a large event at the Jersey Shore,  give us a call for bed linens, towels, etc.   WE'd love to help!

How many donuts this week?

I just realized I has 3 donuts this week! I'm not sure if it has something to do with getting my fix of summer favorite places or that I just like donuts, but I did have 3. Based on this I could either jump on a treadmill or use my taste buds to make a recommendation.
Exciting donut flavors
at Fractured Prune

Hot Oves donut
We had" Last Day of Work" donuts for Ashley from Fractured Prune. They have fun  flavors. I also had an Oves cinnamon sugar donut last weekend. Yesterday my dad brought back some creme donuts and fritters from Dots.

My favorite of the week : Dots!

I hope to transition to salad reviews next week::)

Sunrise Sunset

Sunset at the North end of OC
It's hard to decide whether I like sunrises or sunsets more. I think both are amazing  to see over water. In the off season we post many sunrise photos over the ocean. We don't get a chance to do that nearly as often during the summer months. We do try to catch sunsets over the bay when we can though.

Here's a photo of last nights sunset from Ocean City. An Ocean City sunset isnt complete without the water treatment plant in the background... haha. They should just make it look like a lighthouse.

Vacationer Tip: wake up early one day and catch a sunrise. Take a photo too!  If that's not your thing - definitely plan to walk to the bay for a sunset.  Overachiever?  Try to do both on the same day.

Crib Day Wednesday

Our crib and other bedtime rentals bring sweet dreams to many babies staying at the Jersey Shore.  Most of our rentals are from Saturday-Saturday; however,  today we rented more cribs than normal for a Wednesday-Saturday stay between LBI and Ocean City.   My best friend is also down for a Wednesday-Saturday stay with her little one.

Four fun filled days of fun in the sun may be just the right amount of time to relax and enjoy away from home!

Blanket and comforter time of year

The end of summer brings lots of orders for our blankets and duvets.  The temperatures may still be in the 80's but vacationers often question whether the rental homes have cleaned their provided blankets at all during the season.

While we think its a great idea for homeowners to rotate blankets and comforters every other week for cleaning,it doesn't happen at most places.

For your next end of season vacation, we suggest renting blankets and duvets! We wash them with each rental.

Stunning flowers and linens

Here's a picture of one of our deliveries to a homeowner client in the gardens section of ocean city. The flowers are stunning and so is the home.
